​​As I have posted before I am not very good at this, but I try now and then... Hopefully, the "then" will increase.  Sometimes, I have lots of encouragement for other brain injury patients.

When people say that the brain possesses plasticity, they are not suggesting that the brain is similar to plastic. Neuro refers to neurons, the nerve cells that are the building blocks of the brain and nervous system, and plasticity refers to the brain's malleability.

I have damaged Executive function. What is that?

Executive Functioning Abilities by Very Well Families
Executive functioning may involve abilities such as:

1. Estimating and visualizing outcomes
2. Analyzing sights, sounds, and physical sensory information
3. Perceiving and estimating time, distance, and force
4. Anticipating consequences
5. Mentally evaluating the possible outcomes of different problem-solving strategies
6. Ability to choose actions based on the likelihood of positive outcomes
7. Choosing the most appropriate action based on social expectations and norms
8. Performing tasks necessary to carry out decision

​Thank you! that I do not have all these problems; I do have some therefore I have to ask my spouse or executor about very necessary decisions if applicable.  As I said, I do not have all of these problems, thank you Lord for that. This means Brain plasticity has happened to me over the years.  I am 9 years damaged.  You have to work you brain as a muscle; I do not work my body muscles as much as I should but I really have to work on my brain to keep it healthy.  There are so much information about the brain now that it is getting to where everyone wants to make profit but not help the brain patient.  So many times I have heard which is not a failed system but by the laws of a brain injury or even a spinal injury.  Every New thing cost money as always, it does not matter what country you are in.  I have been in a lot of countries over the years. I still find neurologist - patient lines or brain injury equipment not available or knowledge.  I am glad I am in a country that I do not have to stay with one hospital or one primary doctor.  Frankly, my husband said I would be dead by now if we had to rely on living in another country.  Which has surprised me, due to we have had to live on the move for 8 years. 

POSITIVE!!! Do something new!  Do something that you did not know you could do!  I would have never never thought I would have made 870 pieces of jewelry to date and each one a different design. I would have never thought that I would redesign my photographs and they are enjoyed.  I would never have thought I would be pewter or metal embossing.   I would not have ever thought I would be doing leather work.  Your brain is amazing!  Just Amazing.

I try to send my message outside of the brain injury world because I know people are afraid of brain and spinal injuries.  They need knowledge that with proper care you can get some areas back.  Now, there will always like always be extreme cases. Those cases I give a day to day prayers to them and all of us.
